The idle power consumption increased by 65% though..

Still, amazing stuff.

 

The frequency increased by 65% as well. Perfectly linear scaling. Under load, power consumption increased by 63%

 

I second this, please do another with the comparrisons, pretty please.

 

Can't you just take the benchmarks from other reviews and put them against this one?

I may be missing something, I've had few to many shots tonight all ready.

4.6...oh my. It's like a Pentium 4 except it actually can calculate things.

 

And it doesnt use 100w idling, ahh the march of technology sure is grand.

 

I'd love to see how it compares to a decently overclocked i3 (3.8 to 4.3ghz.)

 

I'm guessing a great deal of that is due to voltage increases.

Anyone know how much of an overclock can be obtained using stock voltages?

 

I'd be interested to know as well.

 

Wow impressive overclock on air

 

got her up to 4.41 booting into windows on air.. but I ended up stable at 202 bus, 1616 on the ram with a 5.6 qpi where the voltage is still conservative



21x multi, 5.6 qpi, 202 bus, 1616 mem clk

voltages- 1.33125v cpu (with vdroop off), 1.230v qpi/vtt, 1.180v pch, 1.860v pll, 1.8v ddr3 1600

sorry about the image.. in windows paint but not bad for a 95 dollar chip shipped.. it could easily do 4.41 on air as it doesn't even load over 60C with prime(lapped sink) but it takes more voltage on the chipset and it starts climbing from there.. seems around 4.2 to 4.3 is the sweet spot for 24/7 without water

I was going to lap the chip, check with a razer and it was flat as could be!

now onto the 460

edit: had to up the volts a couple.. failed prime blend after a hour- looks good so far at 1.33
