Just been on a driving holiday in the Catalonia region of Spain with a bit of time in the south of France for good measure. The sunsets at our Spanish villa were breathtaking.

I'll likely post one or two more when I've whittled the numbers down a little :)

yeah, the composition is great, but it's under exposed by maybe 1/2 to 1 stop. :)

Nihilist: just beautiful. (shame about the cables, though... sure they add something, but I'd rather not have them if it was my shot) Other than that everything is just spot on.

Thanks :) I got a lot of shots, quite like this one with the cables in personally but I can see what you mean. The only thing I did to this was a (slight) tweak of the white balance.

This was taken just after 10pm, when it was quite dark. The moon just burst up from the horizon blood red, I've genuinely never seen anything like it.

It's the moon by the looks of things (long exposure wouldn't be required for the sun)

You mean it's the moon shot using long exposure? It's so bright. Doesn't looks like moon to me.. sorry but I've never seen that in my life.

If you expose for long enough, the moon will start to look like the sun in the camera. It is, after all, lit by the sun.

To a camera, the moon is massively bright and smaller than it appears to the eye.

If you expose for the evening sky, moon in the image will look like a spot light. If you expose for the moon, the rest of the picture comes out black.
