Just wondering if anyone else has a favourite game sound track or one they like to listen to for me I really like the sound track from the Darksiders.
The metal gear soundtracks are good, I like listening to the ocarina of time soundtrack every once in a while it brings back the memories
I am somewhat of a sucker for soundtracks and scores, indeed I have a huge collection of Film scores and recently with games taking these things more seriously I have taken more interest. The 1st track I loved in a game was the Pegasus Bridge theme from COD1. Since then we have things like Halo using Thomas Newman scores exerts on thier TV ads. Hanz Zimmer composing CODMW2. These days scores are epic and people lap them up. Id say my faves are pretty obvious. 1: Oblivion 2: Shadow of the colossus 3: Far Cry 2 4: Assassions creed 2 & Brotherhood.
I could listen to the ST from Guild Wars all day in the background. It's not the sort of thing you'd sit and listen to but its really atmospheric.
Loads of info here + there are Tube examples. Personal favourites are Grim Fandango and the early MOH games. Solo trumpet and snare!
I was thinking that too :/ Actually, come to think of it, if there was a soundtrack it was probably drowned out by copious amounts of swearing at my monitor and fits of malaria-induced rage.
Far Cry 2 had one of the best soundtracks in the business: it dived right back into the background most of the time and only popped up when you were spotted by enemies. Most of it is improvised, performed by about 6 players in a room in Oxford. Very good stuff. Don't know why you bother playing the games you buy at all. Do you like eating butter sandwiches too?
