    Well, firstly, I'm a noob.

This was my first build and it's gone wrong.

    Pc specs are:

    1TB Samsung HD103SJ
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus, 4 Heat
    500W Corsair CMPSU-500CXUK Builder
    MSI P67A-C45, Intel P67 Express, S
    4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 Classic DD
    Intel Core i5 2500K
    1GB KFA2 GTX 560

Anyway, a bit-tech user - Murraynt, who I have known for some time, literally told me exactly what to do over mumble, which was super awesome! I followed his instructions exactly and everything seemed to be going well.

When we booted the pc though things went downhill. It runs smoothly, no friction from wires or anything inside, and on the screen I see it say something about NVIDIA ebing copyright etc, then the screen just goes black with a small dash on the top left.

The weird thing is that when the screen goes black at the very bottom right it goes from 99 to 98 to B4 then to A3 and just stays on A3. This happens really quickly and there seems to be no way to access the bios.

I reset the BIOS, reseated the CPU and made sure RAM and the heat sink/graphics cards are all sitting well.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the problem? As I said I'm a noob and I don't undertand the complex talk, so please! try to keep it relatively simpe :p

    Thanks for all advice :)

    See MSI motherboard instruction.
These numbers are debug code. It probably tries to scan something that is not responding... so it waits. If your manual doesn't say, even at the end. Then contact MSI.

What you can try, is put only 1 RAM stick (see manual to make sure you put it correctly), and if that doesn't work, try the other stick.

    Thank you for the reply.

I removed one Ram, tried it - no luck. I then replaced it with the other Ram - no luck either.

I am checking the MSI information for debug codes as you suggested.

Could the problem possibly be that the graphics card is too new and therefore not recognised? I don't think the system is posting.

Didn't BettyBlue (Nealieboyee on here) narrow it down to needing a BIOS update?
I was busy getting shot at, so I can't remember the details.

Is there any way to download the latest BIOS on my laptop, then put it on a memory stick and update the current bios that way? Or am I just being a noob?

I am the man in question :p
You can indeed download the Bios update and pop it on to a memory stick.
The problem lies when you need to boot into the existing bios to update it.
I don't think creating a bootable floopy disk would work either. :sigh:
Your only option is to send it back to scan I think as you don't have a spare GFX.
Even if you do have a spare GFX there is a slight chance that that isn't the problem.
Ring scan and see what they say anyways, can't hurt.

Edit Didn't think you had 18 posts. You could have got free shipping :waah:

Anyways. I will make sure you are play BFBC by this time next week with the PC You built even it it involves my swimming over to Edinburgh.
