Windows Brink (the game)

Should still be ok for a match, is day 1 classed as the evening of Friday 13th? Assume the game will be out at midnight on Thursday on Steam.

 

From what I can tell from Steam, it will unlock at about 2am on Friday morning

i wouldn't mind getting the game but i have my eye on The witcher 2. i might pick up brink later at some point. So much goes wrong with MP games at launch that i don't bother anymore.

Edit: Just got your PM. I don't live in the UK so i can't really buy from you guys even if i wouldn't mind supporting you.

 

count me in, usually i would play SP to get used to controls then MP, but since your going to trouble of organising something then might as well

What happened to the 5 we had before?

 

Those were the names I had before. If we can get another 3, perfect. If not, I'll recruit some people who put their names down as backups on ZiiP, or alternatively from BrinkTv.com.

I would love it if we could get some of the BT people on, but I think interest in the game is low.

Presuming Money clears into my account in time (it should do, but you know banks) I will be up for a day 1 match

 

Seems they're going back to the old way of servers of FPS, none of this activision style bullcrap. Basically you can set up a brink server yourself if you wish and also any server providers can provide brink servers.

 

Still waiting on official word as to when the server files will be available. From the "round-table" discussion that was had on Gamers Portal yesterday, someone put out the date of the 9th of May. Seeing as the game is released on the 10th in the states, I think that might be cutting it a little fine for those over in the states. Even for people here, it would be a little tight.

Thus far, ZiiP is still planning on having 2 servers up. One casual, one for more competitive play.

It is good to see though that the server files will be publicly available though

 

Amen to that! We've had enough disappointments recently with releases, so let's hope that this lives up to the hype that has snowballed recently

I stayed around for about an hour and fifteen minutes of it last night. It was relatively pointless to be honest. Self-promotion for BrinkTV and Gamers Portal. They didn't really cover anything that hasn't already been descirbed in detail in interviews/previews and videos.

Here is the question Jester posted regard Punkbuster being ditched in preferance for VAC;

On the plus side that day is also my birfday So a shiny new game for bday will be nice for a change.

So time to me being actually in Brink is going to be the time it takes to download and install when i get up on that morning (no work that week! HUZZAH!)

Until then i'll probably spend the week attempting to break my own face while getting back into skating (after about a 5 year hiatus from it but Hanley has a shiny shiny bonkers skatepark and it would be rude not to maim myself in some amusing way there)
