hey I got no answer from Simon. could any1 help me to get the vbios of the 950/1200 as the link is dead anymore. it's so little-size even an attached file would get it to me. if some1 has it and could spend 5 mins. for me I would be grateful.. engage@citromail.hu

Hey, I dont have the 950/1200, but i do have 850/1200. thats what I am using.
    Check if this works.
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E657N3SL

If it does not, let me know. unless u dont want 850/1200.

    Now,
I need some assistance from others. I am setting up eyefinity. Just ordered a third monitor. All monitors are 24" with 1920X1080. I understand I need a displayport adapter. Just want to know the difference it will make between a SL-DVI & a DL-DVI. currently I am using a SL-DVI on my two monitors. I get good frames. I Thought maybe a DL-DVI will give me better frames. But I dont know if will make any difference on 1920X1080. My ques is, Which DisplayPort adapter to buy. A DisplayPort to SL-DVI or DisplayPort to DL-DVI? & what difference will it make?

yes this links works but I don't need it I have every v-bios except the 950/1200.
atm I use the 900/1200 but I used succesfully the 950/1200 just I flashed back my gpu for some reaseon and I didn't keep that vbios file and now I can't find. I tried the 1000/1200 but that doesn't work with my card. thank u anyway seems Simon got to holiday :D

Sorry for not getting back to you. A friend hosted the 950/1200 vbios on his PC as that was the first vbios I did. When it came to adding more, I used any upload site.

Sorry but I don't have the 950/1200 vbios to hand...Can you not use the 900/1200 and up the clocks in CCC to 950?

    Cheers,

    Simon.

I tell you what, as I'm not doing nothing now, I will create that 950/1200 vbios now. Will update the link and let you know when its done.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

Ok, I figured that out. I bought the DUAL link DP adapter.

But I have a ques for you Simon.
The 5870 I have is the XFX XXX Edition (875/1300). I am currently using the (850/1200) bios on it that you edited for me. & on the 5970, I am using the (850/1200) Bios that you edited as well.
 I was wondering if I can use the original BIOS of the XFX5870 XXX(875/1300) on each of processors of the 5970. Since, technically, they are the same processors.
    What do you think?

666shan666 I don't think you can do that. Hemlock BIOS on a Cypress card sounds like it could potentially brick something. Any reason why you would want to do that anyway?

I have my own little problem though lol. I've been running the 950/1200 BIOS on my PowerColor 5970 for over 4 months now and it's been running beautifully! Was only running a single monitor, and the other day I picked up a 2nd monitor and now I get a weird flickering issue on my 2nd display. Usually only happens when I watch a video and sometimes during web browser animations. You think if I modify my 2D clock speeds in RBE it'll fix my problem? Thanks for the help Simon!

    @vulcZ,
Yes, that happens with me as well. Second monitor flickers when playing a video or a game on one monitor. But it only happens when the monitors are in extended display or cloned :wallbash:, not when they are in eyefinity mode.

The reason I want to do the BIos flash is because i will be using three monitors now, so I was wondering if i may get some extra juice from my cards. the 5870 worked great at 875/1300 on air, so I thought we can do the same with a 5970. :naughty:
I AM planning to water-cool both of them as well. But not now, in 6-8 months.

    Driver issue

    Hey!

Good guide you got here! I followed the instructions, and flashed the GPU but now I cant install the drivers for my 5970, which is weird! I tried flashing the card back to original, that made the driver installation work, I then flashed it to the new bios but it still doesn't work. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? I get the message "No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD hardware".

    I have a PowerColor 5970 btw.

    Hello!

I'm new here and need your help urgently.
Problem: i installed the "ArcticCooling Accelero Xtreme5970" on my "HIS HD5970".
Now, i have freezes and other problems with the card.

    Question:
Can anyone create a BIOS for my HIS-Card, witch is optimized for the new cooler?
    So i can flash the card again (i tried to flash the original HIS-Bios and the SAPPHIRE-Bios;
doesnt works properly with the cooler...)

    Info:
I'm coming from switzerland and my english isnt really good... ;)

    Hi sainthoodx,

have you solved your problem? I have a similar one like yours: freeze on boot logo and black screen if I reactivate first GPU. I have flashed it with last original Sapphire flash from this thread but did not help. please share your experience with me

    Salute !
I just wanted say to Simon : thank U why U created again the 950/1200 vbios.Though my card was ''on its way out'' (temp.difference problem GPU2 has higher temp. than GPU1)
it still rocks works perfectly here is a litle story lol : well I ordered a waterchiller as well I bought a fridge. There is 45litres of water in the fridge(in a kinda tank). The fridge drilled on its side by 4 holes. 2 for the (1/2''-3/4'') tubings which just join to the waterchiller with a regular pump (600L/Hr) The other 2 holes for the (5/16''-7/16'') tubings which go straigt away to the pc with an other pump 1500L/Hr. when it was done and I had the experience what i needed (which is incredible, i can cool down the water even to 4C just it's too cool and makes condensation on the blocks, btw I set always with 10C lower than room temp,if the temp goes up with 1C the chiller switches on again automatically) ofc I dont use any radiator anymore nor fans so after a week I drilled the wall and the fridge and the chiller placed in the other room (the chiller quite noisy also makes heat..) the fridge actually off all the time it just for the insulation (so no dust, and dont touch with the room-temp.) I use it this way for nearly 2months and it's the best cooling solution what I ever had.

After reading the new mag quite happy I still got my 5970 but keeping it has saved me a lot of money. The comparisons are favourable against the 580
