Just back online after moving house... What's changed in Shift 2 - is the DLC now available for PC, and any news on patch #2? Cheerios! Cleggy.
Patch 2 is out as part of the dlc, if your on steam it should update otherwise you need to use Origin to download it.
I've sent friend request to most I can find on this thread. I tried using the keyboard as I was contemplating on upgrading my ATI 4770 to 6850, but driving with keyboard is impossible. The car turns hard with very little input. I'm going back to my DFGT soon
Thanks for that, but I'm struggling... I bought the game via the EA Downloader. Since logging into Origin I'm told I've never ordered anything, and running the "EA Downloader" installed on my PC does nothing. What am I doing wrong? Forgot to mention, have also tried to "check for updates" using the Games explorer in Win7 but to no avail...
EDIT - I've installed Origin and can now see my prior purchases... However, since I used EA Downloader to install Shift 2, should I choose the "Origin" or "non-Origin" version of the DLC???!!!! Why is nothing ever simple...
Question 1) Anyone got this issue? or a resolution? When i run shift 2 i get an error that says 'Invalid password'. So i cant log in to Autolog. Question 2) Will my DLC work ok? I bought the retail version of Shift 2, and downloaded the origin version of the DLC + ran the installer. Will the DLC run ok? I cant find it yet?!
Same issue for me with the password. I've completely uninstalled the game and patches and will reinstall it when I'm feeling braver. Daft delivery system - not a patch (pardon the pun) on Steam.
Whats the latest version everyone is running on here? Ive installed it on a new PC and ive only found one patch
Thanks, ive just upgraded my PC, so il check that tonight. Plus ive now got a G27 I cant seem to find a nice setting though, and im having trouble getting the handling how I had it before. Hence why i was wondering if perhaps i was on the wrong patch. Anyone here using a G27 that wouldnt mind sharing their settings?
When you say 'do it for you', what does it do exactly? (sorry for my ignorance!) Ive installed the driver CD that comes with the wheel - But not done much else with it.
I posted my settings earlier in the thread, so go have a read (I use a G25 but it's basically the same as the G27). FWIW, I can find no handling differences between the 1.2 patch and earlier versions. At least not when using the G25, I haven't tried it with the 360 controller yet.
Ok thanks - I managed to find them on page 5. Ive actually got an annoying problem since ive upgraded my PC. For some reason, after about 2x races, the FPS just drops massivley so its almost unplayable. Im using an i7-950 and a GTX 480 - Which plays it on max settings fine for the first couple of races. Anyone else had this issue?
I may have had something similar; during a long race or after an extended session the FPS really dies, and things start "galloping" towards me rather than flowing smoothly. A quick "ALT+TAB" out of the game, maybe start and close a browser, then "ALT+TAB" back into the game usually cures this and repairs the frame rate. Does that work for you? I was kinda hoping the 2nd patch cured that, hence I'm re-downloading and reinstalling the entire game + DLC just now... Will share my findings.
Just bought this game. A few things bugging me though. Manual gears and clutch keep resetting to auto in between races. Steering feels totally remote just like in all arcade racers for some reason. (seen the 1st page link btw) Having to watch the videos is absolute torture for me. Why does everyone have to be "X-treme awesome" in arcade racers nowadays? Is there anyway of ending vids early, cos I swear i'll punch another monitor into oblivion if I have to listen to that fat greasy driver in the Monster branding for much longer.
