No, of course I meant: what paper (brand/maker/etc....)? And how will it last over time? (will it peel eventually, or is the quality good enough?)
I don't believe you can do this with a regular printer as his stickers are cut-out and only an actual 'sticker maker' can cut out shapes like that. If you are printing this at home which machine are you using and how much did it cost ?
Wicked, i like it a lot, everything is where it should be. I think of this like watching the pc-mod version of the earlier episodes of american chopper.
Thank you for the many comments So. Those stickers are printed with a Mutoh Spitfire/Rockhopper 65 industrial large format printer and cutted with a Mutoh Kona 1400 Cutting Plotter. The printer uses EcoSolvent ink with, so these prints has 3 years outdoor guarantee for colors and quality (e.g. direct sunlight or heavy rain) and to indoor using it's probably lifetime guaranteed. The graphics is designed with a very helpful friend of mine who works with these machines day-by-day. They make signs, posters, stickers, business cards etc.etc.. everything There's a still from the designing process: Back to those sexy details with the stickers. The cutting of the stickers and the self-adhesive films (masks, window-name..) was very fast and accurate. Insanely 1m/s cutting speed YAY!. The carbon patterned print is a special vinyl. Its designed for Car wraps so its very tractile (stretchable) and flexible, resist against scratches and many weaker phisical impacts. It has almost lifetime quality guarantee too. So rayson - you are right. Its vinyl and cutted. I hope you were not bored reading this 'essay' but when I ask THE friend for the answers.. writing writing.. writing.. writing writing.. excuse him he loves his work
This is actually pretty awesome. Way better then I expected when I clicked on it. Cheers and keep up the work looking forward to seeing a finished mod!
Really nice job m8 . ! Look my project here U can see on mine, i love monster energy too, so 2 nice computers we have ! Just my opinion... i like mine, and i like your project Congratz
-WORKFLOW- Day 22: 2011-08-19 / Task: Details I continued adding some details to tha case. The sidpanel got a sticker you saw at the Gymkhana 3 video. It says "Obama can't Gymkhana". I think it looks very cool. The sidepanel and the plexiglas wasn't in the same plane so I made the sticker to the panel's level with some not-see-through (translucent?) white plexiglass (milk-like) so under the sticker there was no emtpy space. Next was to hide the poprivets I used again the milk-plexiglas but this time 3mm thick. In way to look more clean/smooth looking I thought about to hide the 5.25" cage side - milk-plexiglas* again. The mounting will be with velcro because it will be more easy to maintenance the 5.25"s. I steal another detail from the car - "Hoonigan on board!". There are many many details like this on the car but i don't want to use them all because it will be too fancy. *glossy white plexiglass.. finally I remembered how can I describe in english To be continued...
Some of the cleanest dremel work I've yet seen in this project Hope this gets attention from monster if it hasn't allready
Tech_Jakl - Thanks a lot. I like to do the details. It's hard to get contact with the appropriate competent person.
I don't quite get all this Hoonigan, Ken Block and Monster stuff, but I found this video: I guess I play too little Dirt 2 to understand?
Nutman - In the beginning of the worklog I wrote the youtube link so maybe you missed it. I changed to you for embed video-window so it'll be more noticeable. The car in the video is the main design source for my modding project.
