    Hi,
My Dad has basically told me that if I dont stop hogging the internet then he will chuck my pc in the bin :eeek:. At the moment I am downloading Civ 5 and TF2 and its using all the internet bandwidth. Ive had a look but cant seem to find any bandwidth allocation option like there is on BitTorrent etc.

    Thanks
    BH :worried:

Civ 5+TF 2 is about 8.5gb and on a 40kb/s average Download speed in steam it will take forever and when my pc is on at night when it's quiet it sounds so loud! Is downloading that taking on CPU/gpu cos I could change fan speed?

So I have to have it on at night then as your saying there is no setting for bandwidth allocation/freeware :(

What system do you have? You can barely hear decent systems these days.

I5 2500 stock with stock cooler (lost the bracket for my tranquilo :() in an r3 with stock fans and a palit 460 se which I swear has the loudest gpu fan possible with pants temps aswell :D.

The thing imfind most is the hdd spinning as it has to when dowloading.

0.8mps dl but steam only downloads at 40kbps in the day. It does about 60kbps at night.

Yeah, Palit fans (and cards!) suck big time in my experience.

What board have you got? If it's not P67 (IE, does it have a display output?) You could take out your GPU and just have it connected via the onboard GPU which will take away the sound of your card although the card should be pretty much silent in idle... Never buy palit again me!

Yep it's p67 so on igp and I can't even oc because I didn't think I would want to! This was before I discovered bt :)
And it's the se version of the 460 so it's loud but not good enough to game on :(.

Looks like I'll just have to stick to discs for the time being...

99% of Bit-Tech don't live in countries ripped apart by civil war, genocide, corruption and sexual violence, so we expect our governments to focus on things like Internet speeds. Its highly understandable that countries like DRC focus on more practical things.

Stop downloading games off steam, I can understand the frustration of the family if you don't have a very good speed anyway.

I completely feel you. Was in Rwanda for a year and that was about the same. Internet there was terrible and up and down all the time. Good luck!
