Given that further down the page with that information on is a series of answers to the challenge, I suspect that's not the same puzzle (seems to be from the Cheltenham Science Festival page): http://www.gchq.gov.uk/Challenges/Pages/index.aspx
42, Relix and Cheesecake all mentioned on the same page i think my mind just 'sploded. In ref to the challenge, te first part isn't that bad actually once you realise what you need.
The first part is, depending on if you're running the right architecture or not. As for part 2, it's beyond me.
Oops, good spot, just shows you how rubbish I am with Google - they'll never take me on now Anyways, I got the first bit of the first bit right (it's shell script) but going further was going to be hard work so I gave up. It's no good, a job in the security forces is not to be for me.
i had a job interview with GCHQ when i applied after i left uni, didnt go, since i had a firm offer from somewhere local. sometimes i think should i have taken it....or at least gone to the interview.. either way am happy where i am, still at the same place for 6 years.
I looked at it and realised immediately that it's hex but then that repeating "41" in line 5 left and line 10 right, that looks a bit squiffy to me.
https://apply.gchq-careers.co.uk/fe/tpl_gchq01ssl.asp?newms=jj&id=35874 You could just go straight here. Apparently that sites been up for a month now but obviously it wasn't get any attention so the "leaked" it to the media. The main problem might be the wages though. £25k for a graduate + several years of experience level job in central London isn't enough.
Give me another 2 years in uni then I'll have a crack at it We do Cryptography and Steganography in year 3 (in year 1 right now) Also googling around it appears the website might not be linked to GCHQ etc.
I have managed to crack it.. that was totally mental. You need more information than the hex values at the start of this thread. Stage two is even more nuts.
hehe this the screen you have been seeing? Nice little campaign they've just pulled for next to no cost.
