Currently a bit bored with my Denon AH-D2000's so I'd like some suggestions on a new set(as a little xmas treat). Must be: -Closed -Not sennheiser -Circumaural - Less than £300 Ideas?
Erm.. the denon AH-D200 is basically the best headphones for that kind of money. Are you using a proper headphone amp?
I'm using a Xonar DX with a Sony TA-FE370 amp(with a Fiio E10 for uni). Hmm. I may just save the money for IB-E then, or a 256GB SSD.
Not really more of an upgrade itch, new headphones is far easier than delving into watercooling. I listen to a lot of orchestral music, vocal music and some dance/trance/dnb. Not so much rock, metal. Very little jazz. I haven't really gone out at all the last term at uni, yet still had a reasonably well paid job...so I have money left over.
Watercooling is far more interesting and you get to build a cooler, quieter pc. Headphones important though. I use them a lot.
They just don't fit right and whats the point of £300 worth of audio quality if your ears hurt after a couple hours or they slip from your head when you move? I'm probably going to put the money towards Ivy Bridge or a new GPU instead.
The HD 650 is very comfortable once it's broken in, open though. How about some of Shure or Ultrasone's higher end closed cans? At the high end, closed headphones aren't as common as closed, but they do exist. How about new pads for your D2000? Jmoney makes quality replacements, they will change the sound. If you like Denon, there's always the D5000 and D7000
