    Easy,

anyone got any recommendations for a UK VPN, preferably free? Seen http://www.bestukvpn.com/, but I'm wary of anything with best in the title as they invariably turn out to be quite far from the best.

    Ta!

That VPN service probably monitors all traffic going through it.

sorry, no idea about HP microserver. if you are running FreeNas, you could look around for open source Linux VPN servers.

whether it allows you to watch iPlayer really depends on your VPN server's internet speed. i did a few checks and when connected using PPTP on my iPhone, all websites thing i am accessing from my house.

Your best off checking out a VPN company that offers a free trial, theres a few out there. With the trial at least you can test which services you can access, BBC, Hulu etc and whether it buffers or not. I use Laptop Telly at the mo for BBC One and some US stuff, they've taken down the free trial from the main page by the looks of it but the link still works. http://www.laptoptelly.com/freetrial
Price varies alot on them by the looks of it 5-15 a month, Hope that is of some help.
