True, but this will show in the initial test, as the case will show that out of the box it comes with better fans. As such it will do better ( we'd hope! ) in the tests. If a case has specialised fans that can't be replaced, then fair enough, but then we know the best case scenario would be using the non replaceable fans plus having every other fan slot filled.
The link to EBuyer should be stopped as they are now charging £89.99....which is £10 more than the retail price according to the review.
Thanks for the great review. I have placed an order for one of these from BT Business Direct. A great replacement for my ancient Antec 900. Im going to put the rear fan in the front of the case and use my current H50 with 2 x Corsair SP120 in the back.
Can't wait to order mine, I so nearly ordered an R3 a few days before this was released! I'll be getting the Titanium grey one, hopefully it'll be available soon. Although if I had known that all shops were going to be charging around £90 I should've just preordered the black pearl one from ebuyer when it was £80.
I'm designing a multiple-radiator water cooling setup using your Define R4, and I have some questions regarding the upper, large HDD bay that holds 5 drives and the lower bay that holds 3. 1. Can the large HDD bay be placed in the lower position? Can the small HDD bay be placed in the upper position? 2. Is it possible to place either of the HDD bays in the upper position, without either bay on the bottom?
Well i got mine and trasferred my rig across, I have to say its a beautiful case to work with and the build quality is great. But the temps are a little dissapointing, i used the rear 140mm as an additional intake and my H50 with 2 x apache blacks is the exhaust. Ive got 2 x corsair SP120's arriving tomorow which i will bung on the H50 and use the apache blacks on the roof of the case.
My rig is in an R2 with the 2 intakes, Top and rear exhausts and I've never had any temp issues. I wouldn't want to run it with the stock fans supplied it would get hotter than a kangaroos pouch in a drought. If my attempts at chopping most of the drive bays out fail miserably then I may just plump up the cash for the R4. The design isn't up to everyone's linking but I love the simple looks. I've even disconnected that lighthouse of an LED on the front panel.
Would anybody gladly give up a lot of depth & a bit of height, to gain a little bit of width? [/IMG] (ps MS Paint rules, f**k Photoshop ;o)
