With me new tele lg 55lm670t I get built in freeview etc with recording. This however requires a USB HDD or a flash drive. Flash drive wont hold enough so has to be a USB HDD. It comes with the 1TB drive, it's not that bad of price. Subtract whatever the 1TB usb cost on it's own and you end up with what 20 for the holder thingy. If you don't mind mounting it to the wall instead maybe, one of those suggestion box and take off the top part.
'Plastic Coated Fixing Band' would work for this, cut to length and screw the HDD to it then leave a hole at the top to fix to the TV.
