I'm studying at university also and it's the reason why my Strobe project log is paused at the moment. This and the fact that my workshop is 450km away from the city I study at makes it pretty much impossible to mod.

Your work is really detailed and well executed! Wish I could do something like that some day. Keep up the good work! :thumb:

Even with some little scratches and the discoloured spots it looks awesome. Also, this strenghtens my oppinion of sandblasted finishes allways looking better in general then brushed finishes, even when anodized :)

I love it! You're right about your hard work paying off - the finish looks great and all the parts themselves look really solid and professional.

I love the design of your worklog by the way, feels like an illustrated novel!

(secretly hoping for some Sin City-style monochrome graphics on the side of the finished case.....)

Thanks! It really turned out great, even if all the pieces did not come out perfect.

Yep, although this was glassblasted with 150-250 µm glass beads. If I would do it again I probably would go even smaller.

puhh :D I was worried there for a while :D

    Thanks!

One step at a time! It is so I can do this work-log proper justice :D

Glad you like way I present the pictures. Takes a lot of time to do them this way, but I feel it is worth it. Even though I sometimes think it is a pain when I rather would work on the project instead. But It is always worth it in the end. I also makes you think about all the pictures that you present so that they always look good.

    Nice work Andreas!

Was thinking about doing something like that myself. But i convinced myself that it was way to labor intensive - so i bought a Caselabs case instead :)

Nooooo... if the finish of the surface if too fine then it starts looking bad again. Some noticable texture makes all the difference really. Otherwise you could simply powder-coat it.

    Nooo! :D

You should have gone for it man! It is hard work but it really pays of! But I see what you are getting at. You really have to put in hours into projects.

I promise, it is not "that" hard. You just have to go slow and steady! :)

Haha! I don't know man, I could probably go a bit smaller. Not much though :D

This build is coming along great. I wish I had access to the equipment you have. Would love to build my own custom case some day. Keep it up!

It is a blessing having this equipment. What I really miss though is a CNC mill. That would be awesome.

    Thanks!
