It's come the time I need to upgrade GPU, my 550gtx ti can't handle running COD/Crysis 3 at full :-(

I've been allowed a £200 budget from the missus, so which GPU should I buy? a 660GTX ti has more cores, but it's difficult to buy one for that price.

Or are there any other options? I'd like to stay Nvidia, for a seamless transition to next GPU........

    I run 1920 x 1080 in full usually.

    Cheers

760 is a rebadged 670 as far as I know.

1152 vs 1344 cores but at higher clock speeds (stock vs stock).

At this price point I would be looking at a nice custom cooled 7950 (if available) or cheap 7970/280x.

There is also the GTX670 and 680 from Nvidia but at this price point I think the AMD cards offers a bit better overall package.

670 is still the preferable card over the 760, yes the 760 will OC past the stock 670 but the 670 clocks well too.

That said, I'd get a 7970 in a heartbeat for £200. It's a bit hungrier than the equivalent Nvidia offerings but the performance outweighs that disadvantage.

Call me biased 'cos I own one, but I'd go 7970 as well. Best bang for buck by a reasonable margin, IMHO (plus the 3Gb of VRAM).

If you're dead set on nVidia, why not a 670 on 680 PCB like an EVGA f.t.w edition or a Zotac AMP! ?

Do I have issues with going from NVidia to ATI?

I guess I'd uninstall Nvidia drivers, switch cards then install ATI drivers? That easy?

Yep, if in doubt download and run Driver Sweeper, select the option for installing a new card.

7970 is the only card to have at £200. Absolute bargain.
