Maybe I'm thinking of the specials.

 

The trio have a name now too.

 

Already updated the thread last night. Ironically, Amazon released the title of the new show, and in less than an hour, the Beeb announced when TG would air.

It's as if clarkson and co have walked off the set and Chris Evans walked on. They haven't changed a thing and it isn't really working.

They could have changed up the format and given it a refresh but no. Even the furniture is the same!!

 

That was horrible, and if it lasts more than the season of it they've made it'll be a minor miracle imo...

 

Caught the last half hour and didn't really enjoy it, just doesnt feel fun or funny, more likt they are trying too hard.

 

The "challenge" was rather boring and pointless.

Too much of the writing/acting, especially at the start was too much trying to imitate Clarkson.

Writing style of the reviews was too much like Clarkson was the same style for both Matt and Chris.

Chris too in your face / excited.

Stars in Rallycross would have been better if both guests could drive, rallycross was a nice change, never really like SiaRPC before as it just got boring.

Preferred Matt's review of the Nomad to Chris' review of the Viper.

 

Matt was ok...ish, Evans is definitely the issue [well my issue...]

Also a bit miffed Harris and the other one have kinda been relegated to present some [imo] unnecessary 'extra'/making-of show...

What is it with the current trend of having to have a show dissecting the show you've just watched?...

 

Sounds like a clash of egos there.

Matt LeBlanc is one thing, but I couldn't see Mr Evans wanting to get upstaged by some motoring journalist and part time racing driver (who happens to have a huge amount credibility and knowledge when it comes to cars and driving).

I want to see Harris back on Youtube, getting more view than Top Gear.

 

Extra gear is worth a watch. Harris gets to do his YouTube thing albeit very condensesed and feels cut short.

 

Joey is bearable, Evens is murdering the show.... hes trying way to hard and been way to fake.

I really have to see this for myself. I didn't get home till late this evening (well, yesterday evening now...) and my wife told me that there is already a lot of stuff online about how bad the new series is. They really plugged it on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, especially the "global" aspect of it. If it's as bad as it's being made out to be, this is a pretty big faux pas from the BBC.

 

Mostly the wrong people doing the same old thing.

 

Nope, Evans is naturally that annoying... he doesn't need to try...

Extra gear was surprisingly decent, but way too short...

If the main show had been like that it'd be ok...

TL-DR: Less Evans, More Harris...
