Does your iron have a function for blowing steam? Just suspend it on a hanger and give it a few blows (oi oi). That's how I started doing shirts, much easier!

    Appears to be upside down.

Even I know enough about our colonial overlords to tell.

went for a casual pedal on my bike yesterday, rear brake tried to shart its piston this locking the rear brake on, only problem is it emptied the fluid as well over said disc so it failed at being a brake by no longer stopping plus constantly squealed very loudly as the whole thing was locked to the disc.

Now insult to injury, no only can you not service shimano callipers, but also no one seems to carry a cheap calliper.

Can you not bleed any remaining fluid from the master cylinder on the lever end and prize the pads open with flat-ended screwdriver? Unless the pads have slipped and got jammed between the piston and disc I can't see how the caliper would lock like that.

But that's why I always bought Hope stoppers, you can get replacements for literally every single part - usually for free if it's a failure and you ask nicely.

    And they'd be correct.

EDIT: The 'official' definition of the Union Jack did amuse me

I sit corrected, and with a factoid purged from my repertoire, but I can't say I'm not disappointed. This is nearly as bad as the time I found out that the word 'octothorpe' to refer to the # symbol is a modern invention, too...

EDIT: Oh, and 'porage,' too! I always thought it was the 'original' spelling and used it proudly; turns out it's an invention of A&R Scott for marketing purposes. I was inconsolable over that one.

As for the silly language of heraldry, here's the official blazon of the Halfacree Coat of Arms: "arms-ermine on a chevron vert between three lions' heads erased gules as many acorns Or."
