This has just been released as free to play for anyone that is interested. I have played a few rounds so far and all seems good. I just have to get the hand of the different weapons and the base building side of it. But so far so good
The LAN guys are going to give it a spin this week, so I downloaded it and had a couple of goes. Didn't immediately grab me, it was more jumpy/shooty than PUBG; which can be really stealthy and get so tense. No tension there, but it may be different in a squad or all together. Watch this space for an update...
When I play PUBG I feel tense and on edge almost straight away which is no bad thing. With Fortnite I honestly could not care less and play stress free and have a laugh doing so. IMO it is well executed and worth a go for a free to play game
I have only tried the solo pvp so far, no time for the rest as Original Sin 2 consumes all. Overall its an enjoyable single life deathmatch game, but given how easy it is to find a decent shooty bang bang, the cartoony graphics, the predictability of where it will be safe, the relatively fast pace and so on it really doesn't have anything to do with the movie they mention in the game description.
There's already a thread for the main Fortnite game, this is just the BR version https://forums.bit-tech.net/index.php?threads/fortnite.329293/
Played it a little more yesterday and still enjoyed it, for me struck a pretty nice balance between being tense at times but also being pick up and play enough that you weren't too distraught if you died really deep into the game.
Winner winner, some kind of dinner. Played random squads, played well as a team but no communication. Managed all the kills somehow. WINNER WINNER. great feeling
I've played it a bit, I like it but am not particularly enticed by it. The cartoon style really isn't for me, neither is third person (when I play PUBG on my measly 780M, I only play FPP). I just don't understand how these games are so demanding hardware-wise, yet a 64 player BF3/4/1 map plays fairly well on my old laptop. Sure, 64 isn't 100 and the maps are a tad smaller, but I doubt the scaling is all that different.
Is anybody playing BR still? Getting tired of playing with randoms who do not communicate DIR7Y-H4RRY on epic games
Just started playing this with some mates and as someone that hated dayz I’m really enjoying it. Won a duo match and I’ve come 4th in a solo match.
This game is really good fun. Managed around 6 squad wins, and finished 2nd a few times on solo. It is eye opening when you see some of the skilled players playing on Twitch. Try looking out for Grimmz and Ninja if you get a chance.
My strat is currently get some ok gear. Hide. Wait for there to be a few players left. Hop out and hope for the best
When I play solo I nearly always try to land at a far away small building and hope I land alone, I never go to the busy areas unless playing Squads.
I'm a big fan of the prison when playing with others and the bridge near the prison when playing solo
