Or they can re-enact Snowpiercer. :p

(Although the average commute on British Rail already is a bit like that...)

The best endorsement for joining the EU is that the UK won't be part of it anymore. :p

No doubt this will come in handy as more and more Brexiters attempt to run away from the consequences of what they have inflicted on the UK.
Question is what are leave voters going to do about it, what are leave voters going to do about Brexiters using the referendum result as a blank cheque to do whatever they want to do in the name of the "Will of the people". Winning the referendum was just the start of a very long journey, isn't it about time leave voters stepped up to the mark and took responsibility.

Not going to happen. People basically voted Leave because whatever personal problems or unhappiness they had was Someone Else's Fault. Whether it be immigrants, the EU, the 'wealthy elite' or 'globalisation' (but mostly, immigrants). That is their basic philosophy. It is always Someone Else's Fault.

    Except it isn't really moving:

They are just putting up a facade so they can pretend to be an EU business.

Except the fact that the profits will be accounted for outside of London now. The technology division doesn't charge Reuters' customers after all. The fact that they are only going to keep a software engineering team in London means exactly that they are moving the **** out of here, read between the lines.

Exactly. Jobs are now being created in Dublin. The ones in London will be wound down to the engineering team only. Profits will be accounted for in Ireland, and hence taxes on those profits will go to Ireland.

In the longer term, it creates a more important shift. As finances relocate to other cities in the EU, trading infrastructure will follow because them's the rules in the EU: it does not allow financial activity to be outsourced outside EU borders. Also, as jobs are created there, the people who apply for those jobs will be those who are less married to a London lifestyle. And once the employees can conceive of working in Dublin, Paris, Frankfurt or Amsterdam rather than London, so can their employers.

Meanwhile Scottish Parliament is refusing consent for the Brexit Bill. Although Westminster could simply ignore them, it does create a precedent that kills off 20 years of devolution. Bad optics.

And Scottish Parliament has now neatly distanced itself from the Brexit ***********.

    Democracy, doncha love it!

And the government is finally going to publish their vision and negotiating position for Brexit, in June. Because the EU has has been dictating the negotiations too much, and it is time that the UK took more control.

You know, a whole five months before the end of a nearly two year negotiation process and passing the deal to European Parliament for ratification.

Cnic mode: They're hoping it'll force both sides to vote for whatever **** the cobble together knowing there's not enough time to negotiate anything else and knowing both sides desperately don't want 'no deal'.

Meanwhile the frothers know as soon as 1 apr 2019 comes, we're out, they've won and **** the consequences... consequences are for the serfs...

Well, the UK government has been advised that both options it is fighting over (although both have already been rejected by the EU) are likely illegal under international trade law. So now it is examining the possibility of the UK as a whole remaining aligned to the EU Customs Union for several years to come, as a way of resolving the dilemma over its future relationship with the EU and drawing some of the controversy out of the Irish "backstop" obligation.

To quote Theresa May: "Nothing has changed! Nothing has changed!"

Better together so we can ignore you while we rip you out of something against the will of your population and we actually don't want to leave ourselves but we promise to kick the can down the road until we are no longer in power and someone else has to sort this **** out except we know the EU won't allow kicking the can that far down the road but we will try anyway.

And of course his excuse that he won't appear due to the ongoing investigation and that his lawyers have told him to keep his mouth shut is complete horse manure since he happily blogs about the issue to the public like for example here:
