Right now, I'm staring at 1 of the 2 remaining airworthy Lancaster bombers that has landed at my station with the legend Jonny Johnson aboard. I believe they're flying him over Derwent Dam, to do the route he flew back in 1942 in training for the infamous raids. Moments like this, I wish I could have a camera with me.... She's a beaut and he's such a legend at 96 years young.
I'm serving RAF in Lincolnshire. We can't have mobiles or cameras in work, for security reasons. There should be some photos on BBMF's twitter account later and I should imagine it'll hit the news later today too, so there'll be plenty of media coverage. Edit: Here's the photo from this morning with my office windows in the background https://twitter.com/BBMF_Spitflyer/status/997049448629972992
Father used to be a squadron leader, and one of his good friends was in charge of the battle of Britain memorial flight. So was lucky enough to get close to the Lancaster once or twice. also living in Lincolnshire for many years helped
This is out of my living room window and on the deck, to the left of us. https://imgur.com/gallery/HsbD1W5 Blue skies and a 27c forcast for the day. Hooray!
Not allowed fancy things like windows at work, I get a riser cupboard door to stair at, managers get windows, or those that sleep with managers.
The view from my window when I'm up at 06:30... And the view a few hours later, deer chilling in the field as I write my presentation for a conference in Denver 2 weeks from now...
That depends on what you like. The Vale of Taunton Deane is a nice place to be and we are very quiet here, the road you see in my picture is a cul-de-sac. We love it here but, my wife's younger son would hate living here. Far too quiet for him, would drive him mad.
The view from my window is a chav-infested toilet of a housing estate... I'm doing y'all a favour by not providing pictures...
