Doing my last 9 hour night shift after 7 nights and realising I have a whole 2 weeks off to re-do the house networking, reload the virtualisation server, NAS and drink lots of Lagavulin (not in that order)

I’ve saved a cat and it feels good. I’d spotted the poor thing a few days before Christmas and decided to install a winter shelter & a feeding station near her den. A few days ago, I was able gain her trust and brought her inside. Hopefully she had an address tag on her collar so I contacted the owners and they picked her up.

Ps: Don’t put a bloody bell on the collar of your cat ffs! That’s a death sentence out there, he won’t be able to hunt and it will attract predators.

Yup. Gotta be better than a flat I can't even be in at the moment due to not being able to make it warm enough.

Aye, bell collars are horrible, and the noise of the bell can be distressing to the cat (and then there's FARS too, although that's typically in older cats).

In a true indication of how low my bar is now set, my life is awesome 'cos a guy who owed me several hundred quid has finally paid up so I won't go bankrupt when HMRC demands my sorely inflated payment on account at the end of the month and the dude who put the hole in my bedroom floor when he was ripping the ceiling down is coming to fix it tomorrow - although the cheeky get made me take up the carpet first.

Doing nothing, and I mean nothing, life can't get any better than just browsing and ending up where you do.
Time isn't flying though, was up at 7:30 feels like a whole day has passed already.
Though I have some work around the house over the next 2 weeks, I am still gonna be a lazy bum period!

Have decided after 10 years of my current school to move onto another - Have the first (and hopefully last) interview to make this happen on Tuesday at a school that's 10 minutes away instead of 35 minutes - gaining me almost an hour a day of extra time to spend (probably on marking and planning). Will also be in my specialist subject of Physics and if successful I'll be teaching A-Level physics for the first time in my career and I'm fairly certain there are at least 3 - 4 of my current year 11 pupils who would reject the 6th form at my current school in favour of my potential new school so i could teach them Physics.

I think my specialism is a little bit in demand and if the interview on Tuesday doesn't go my way then there are 4 other local schools who want a physics teacher but that will increase my commute rather than decrease it. They are however offering recruitment and retention allowances so that'd be nice but isn't a motivating factor in my decision.

I mentioned the bell to the owner and explained, she looked remorseful.
