I didn't lacquer it, the laquer I got flaked off on a test piece so I will just polish it when needed. It's still nice and shiny. I used a polishing kit and a power drill. Three grades of mop, and two grades of polish. To finish it all off I applied some Silver Autosol (THE silver polish) with a soft cloth and buffed it off with the softest polishing mop. Shiny
dude! thats soo cool, it actually makes me want a shuttle (somthing which i have previusly dissmissed as pointless and "crap") but i think i might have just been converted, at least if i do get one i can go to heaven too
Lian Li pc-50???? That really dont match up with the little shuttle for a LAN machine. You should look at the Lian Li PC-402a or PC-402b!!! Thats a nice little shuttle you have there. I agree with Shuriken in the fact that i thought they where crap, but that looks really nice. You need to write a review on Shuttles for Bit-Tech!!!!
In regards to the aluminum mesh filter... Do you find that it makes the fan more noisy with that on than a regular wire grill? I'm thinking about getting a couple for my case and would like to hear a POV from someone who is currently using one. What kind of loudness does it generate? Great case BTW
Outstanding!!!! Those SFF cases dont have too many options on the mods, that is for sure! You really have to plan them out! I love the mirror finish, "mighty pur-deee" (attach Texas accent to that comment)! Way to go!
Hmm.. I've just read through this log, and your maplin slimline box log, with the white fans? I just have to say you seem to have rough luck with the feedback you get. People saying, "I don't like your mod." And seemingly a million people asking the same questions again and again.. like where you got one part or another, when you've already explained in your log. Maybe it's just cuz I'm so darn polite and canadian. In any case- my sympathies, and good work ignoring the hazing I love the small windows and green lighting. The mirror effect is terrific! How many layers of clearcoat did you apply? Since you may have used it by now, how much (if any) damage did the finish accrue? Pretty good work, even though shuttles aren't my fave case- thats mostly because they cost too much for me! It's too late now.. im a month too late to offer any construction advice, but you might have been able to attach the fan without any interference if you'd epoxied it to the side of the aluminum with plumber's steel epoxy. It will bond to anything, is safe to handle and relatively non-toxic. Anyway, very nice work.
