    Hi,

I've had my eheim 1048 for about 18 months and all of a sudden its started making a worrying rattling noise.

I took it to bits once which helped for at least 5 mins before making the noise again. Anyone had this problem and know a fix?

    Thanks

Noise in the pump usually means you have air in your system. I would try re-filling it.

It could be something else like your pump being worn out etc

I've re-filled it twice now with no luck.

I read somewhere that there are some platic blocks holding the ceramic shaft in place, does anyone know anything about them and if they can be replaced?

    Thanks

    try this eheim-mod

with the time the ceramic axle starts to be worn out itself and creates a recess(?) , that starts to make noise.

    ;)
