Peripherals XBOX controller when used in windows 10 (RT) button issue

on a XBOX controller when used in windows 10

is there a way even with other software if need be to disable the physical RT button on the controller but still have the functionality on another button ?

because I think my RT trigger is borked somehow as when playing the division 2 my weapons quite often fire by themselves or the game map zooms in by itself

Probably a physical problem with the controller, make sure trigger isnt binding on controller shell for starters. Otherwise open it and check trigger pot etc.

Edit: assumed RT meant right trigger, if you mean the button above trigger then same deal except bend the button switch mountings.

 

I am pretty sure it is a bug with Division 2 I haven't noticed it with any other game & when playing Division 2 as long as I don't push that button it seems fine

just need to get another controller to see if it behaves the same way or not to be sure

I got that app during my google searches today as far as I am aware it does not let you completley disable individual buttons

 

Remap it to be something meaningless like F10?

 

I dont think you can remap in division 2 the controller settings it just has different loadouts you can try

unless you mean do it out of game but I don't know how to do that

 

Would something like Xpadder let you map the trigger to a random keyboard key?

 

maybe if I didn't have to pay for it

 

If you're getting issues like these take it apart and blow it out. I had stick drift and that worked for me. You should also use a contact cleaner.
