Looking for upgrade suggestions

    My current Processor & motherboard is

    Intel Core i7 8700k Coffee Lake Socket 1151 LGA
    Asus TUF Z370-PRO GAMING

    If I was to upgrade my CPU what other Intel CPU do you suggest that is a upgrade from what I have without being stupidly expensive

    & if possible it needs to be compatible with me NZXT Kraken X53 ( I think its the 53 im not to sure)

    Can't think of much (without spending silly money) - a 9900K would go in the board with an up to date BIOS and it's the same cooler mounting, but you've got to ask if the cost is worth the performance difference, - I'd say no, but YMMV. 8700K shouldn't be struggling yet, is it ?

    no not really struggling in anything I do anyway yet just wondering what my options are for the future

    how much would you say a 2nd hand 8700k Intel i7 is worth (just the chip) what would you say is the range I should be looking at from lowest to highest ?

    £200-£250 perhaps, thats what ebay looks like.
