Hi Guys, its time for a new worklog.
In due time I will tell you what happened and why I havent been posting, You wont believe it.
The worst thing that could happen to me as a functional artist, or to any casemodder for that reason. More later.

This Casemod is based upon the Magnus One and is part of a 15 Casemodder all out battle.
Thanks to Zotac for the case as well as Viper 16gb Ram and 512gb SSD.

I am making this one fully at home in my very small and restricted space I have here because due to the above mentioned (not explained yet) reason, I cant get into my workshop and hence have very little tools here.

I am making a smaller version of my Giger Mod and its all about the Giger Art and of course the Alien textures, or as I like to call it, my "Lil ALI-EN :) Ma001.jpg

I started off by disecting the case and using what i could find at home to make the inner top structure.
a snow scraper, some wood and worbla had good karma.
for the front, i used a knife sharpener. all were painted and then alienated viens and arterial work was dont with hot glue and hand painting.
lisa doesnt miss the knife sharbener yet. when she does, then i might have to hide the kitchen knives too :)

I made fram for the front whih i also covered in worbla.
I need a clean while organic combination look in this one.

I modified the knife sharpener to become a flip out switch to later turn the power on.
    more to come...

    Thanks Ali, that looks amazing.
Like the NUC 9 the Magnus One is a great little PC, and brilliant to see one get some creative treatment.
My brain is hurting a bit as I think uploading has duplicated some of those pics at least twice!
I'll watch the video later, as I'm at work and should be doing stuffs right now...:worried:

    thx arb.
and here is the next update. i changed the diea of placing 120mm fans on the siude cassettes, was too bulky. am back with tzhe original 600 magnus fans that were on the inside tiop before. now thats where the soudn and leds controll will be while using these fans as a right uscker and left blower for a good airflow. the side cassette still need alienating but they can already be taken of in a whole.
    more to come. Magnus002.jpg Magnus003.jpg Magnus005.jpg Magnus006.jpg Magnus007.jpg Magnus008.jpg Magnus009.jpg Magnus010.jpg

G-rated Giger. Some kind of phallus fallacy.
    ...I'll go now. Sorry.

This is probably one of your biggest challenges to date, given the brief said the Magnus had to remain looking like a Magnus :hehe:

yeah its a 1.5 volt 3cm filament capacity, 250 gramm matchbox sized printer isnt it. it makes a raspberry pi look like colossus:)
well seeing as i hardly ever use it, i only bought a small one. its actually the first time i ever used it for parts of a mod. good to know it actually works. :)

Anyway, here are the final pics and a great video 'Thomas, my cam guy made. Its a pity we cant get alien footage due to licencing but he did the best he could and I am more than satisfied.
Apart from that its just a small project I made at home, almost on my lap. Not much space or tools here.
I cant get into my workshop yet, seeing as we had a fire. My loss is..................complete. Devastating to be honest. so this isnt exactly a Spartacus or Iron Maiden or Viking this time.
But, even though I have lost my art, the artist in me refuses to die, so here is a fresh, even if very humble start.
