For me two immediately spring to mind. The fantastic 'Blink' short term teleport power in Dishonored 1&2 And the brilliant motion detector in Alien Isolation. What's yours?
The Land Shark Launcher from Armed and Dangerous. Also the Gravity Screw from Armed and Dangerous. I can't think of many game weapons as ludicrous and imaginative as those, distinctly average game though. More recently the Double Take from Titanfall, makes wonder why more games don't have a side-by-side double barrell marksman rifle.
Can't beat that kill icon: a flying toilet. Weapons: Gravity gloves from HL Alyx is very satisfying to use. Pistol Whip 2089 smart gun (or whatever it's called) also feels great to use. Vertigo (remastered) also had many great weapons near end of the game. The VSS in BFBC2 is my favorite gun in my favorite multiplayer game of all time. Powers: Time-slowing ability in Superhot VR is the best power for me Grapple shot in most games are great, from Just Cause to Halo Infinite The pull and throw ability in Control is also great, it's like gravity gun in a way Device: Has to be the laptop gun from Perfect Dark
Currently enjoying the Hard Wired seeker mine spam build in The Division 2. 10 seeker mines doing just over 3m damage each every 6 seconds, scatters NPC's like nothing else.
Lots of great suggestions here, Control in particular had some great powers and the multi-mode weapon, brilliant game and under-rated I think. To cast way back, Unreal Tournament's flak cannon remains one of my favourites - even today to be able to bounce shrapnel about would be an interesting mechanic. Also the instagib plasma rifle for hilarity. HL1's crowbar also for me - undoubtedly because of the game's popularity but it sticks in my mind as THE melee weapon. Double barrel in 2016 DOOM. Predator Camouflage in the original Alien vs Predator was also fantastic, what a game that was.
You mean the original Alien vs Predator which came out in 1993 for the SNES, or d'you mean the first IBM-compatible game of nearly the same name from 1999? 'cos, to be honest, both were pretty good - but I've fonder memories of the PC version.
I didn't know the SNES game even existed, it's the PC game I was thinking of! The storylines weren't great, but the mix of characters and their strengths/vulnerabilities were fantastic.
I remember a Marines mission - I think it was Aliens versus Predator, it might have been the sequel - where you slowly work your way into a nest then get absolutely mobbed and have to work your way back out again backwards at high speed while blasting away with your pulse rifle. Ace.
Crowbar from Half Life (Although i do enjoy the wrench from Oppossing Force) Shotgun from Farcry (tbh, the shotgun is my go-to in most games) Gravity Gun + saw discs from Half Life 2 The penetrator(?) from FEAR Ion Cannon from Command & Conquer Flak Cannon from Unreal Tournament Ak101 from Battlefield 2 Not weapons per se, but honourable mentions to: Bullet time in Max Payne Grappling hook from Just Cause 2 (just because it was the first of the series i played)
