And they are *exactly* the Velleman kits reviews earlier on this site ( http://www.bit-tech.net/?page=article&id=59 ) , the 30cm ones as pointed out by Nox.

All arrived in one piece (thankfully) however I won't be in until late tonight to test :(

However looking good, TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW (and where you saw it first!)

    Thanks pveale!!! :D

    OH BUGGER

    Mine just arrived too - and they're both BROKEN :( :( :(

But the ever helpful sarah at maplin customer services will send me out replacements today, and make sure any future shipments of cold cathodes are well packaged so that this doesn't happen again.

I hope the rest of you are more lucky than I....

Bad news dude, I know what it's like (I've had one before arrive broken).. shame it was both!!

I ordered mine with some hobby boxes.. when the package arrived it was rattling and I thought "oh no..they've bust!" but it turned out to be the screws in the boxes :D

Answering your Q in the other thread Nox about people not realising the Maplin/Velleman thing.

I think most people didn't make the link to Vellemans and Maplin, or assumed they'd be expensive.. (or maybe that Maplin just wouldn't carry the full range as they weren't on the site).

A lot of people are just Point'n'Click on things, so if it can't be seen online then they assume it's not there (I'm just as guilty).. Just goes to show that a bit of research does wonders. :)

    hehehe... yeah - probably.

Velleman actually has lots of things you can find at OC-Stores too at 1/10 the price (LED-Chasers etc.)

oh, by the way: could you guys help me out with some case-dimensions of popular cases? I need em for calculating the casepix-thing ;)

I had to join in :)

    2 x blue
    2 x black
    1 x pink

I'm hoping the pink one is more red than pink, but as it's for the wifes PC (and I gave her the choice of colours), I reckon pink will be fine ;)

That's exactly it - I searched for Cold Cathodes on the website and in that CD catalogue - and they're not in there. So I quite reasnoably assumed they didn't stock them.

So I emailed them to ask them if they would get some in from velleman, and they emailed me back sayingt hey already had them, and supplied the product codes.
