Thank you so much for sharing this. One of the best videos I've seen in a long time. To get caught up in the humble confidence of the man explaining the workings was a pure joy. As one of the Youtube comments put it 'He was born in the wrong era' and as the lad put it himself 'Can you imagine making decent pay and working here every day? I would be a proud and happy man'. Absolutely brilliant.

 

Happy to bolster the 'awesome' of this thread. I'm actually going to sit down and watch this again.

However, if you try to watch a YouTube video embedded on another site (like here), the video works perfectly.

For those who couldn't stand sitting through hours of people sitting in baths of baked beans last night, I present this:-

 

First stage flight was flawless but the upper (starship) stage went 'pop' near the end of it's burn - no info from SpaceX as to why. First stage also went 'pop' when it tried to do it's secondary objective of a a partial return to launch site burn - current speculation is that the hot staging deceleration and flip caused propellant sloshing - rocket engines do not like ingesting gas bubbles.

Good progress on fixing the launch pad issues and first stage engine reliability, but still feels a bit disappointing to not make the intended (sub) orbit.

 

well no good plan survives contact with the battlefield, was a monumental flight tho and that booster seperation was just /chef kiss.

 

Hopefully, Elrond will make a "post-mortem" tweet in a day or three.

 

Don't want to pay us to make 40k animations? Fine, we'll make our own with Blackjack and Hookers!
