Project "Green Lantern" MAJOR UPDATE, 2 MONTHS WORTH OF WORK UPLOADED

Case before, completely unmodified. it will recieve a piano black coat of paint, windows on side and top, and a few new blowholes



this thing will be recieving a new window on the side and top. 3 new blowholes will be cut (its goonna fly) all lights are gonna be green, except for the uv cathode for the mobo.

anyway, heres the window.




the purple is from the uv cathode, actually its a noce green glow coming out in real life

great looking window.. though i think it would look cooler if you focused on only one color inside the case. since now it looks like a rainbow or something.. thats nice in a way.. but if it would be all green it would be hell a lot cooler imo.

also make a cool window on the top in the same cool style. and maybe a window on the other side as well go dremel go!

What are your plans for the paint job? Surely your not leaving it beige!

 

Amazing work so far! I love the clean cutouts and the inside lighting.

Definately should paint it though. How about black? A nice metallic blue would look cool too. If you decide to paint, invest in some Duplicolor automotive paint. Best stuff ever.

 

thanks all, the paintjob id going to be a piano black, i hope i can get that kind of gloss. the two green lights at the front arent really lights. they are holes that i drilled for something a while ago. they are going to be filled and painted over.

i think i might do the top window, but im also putting in 2 blowholes on top, i dont know if a window would look good with them. i have an idea tho. as far as a right side window its not gonna happen, thats where all my wires are hidden

 

Nice decision on the window, much better than the standard design. Is it spposed to be in the shape of the letter "y"? Maybe a "G" & "L" for Green Lantern.

 

there is no significance to the window, it just looked cool. also anybody got any ideas as to where i should put a side blowhole. you are welocme to photochop my images

The case is gonna look pretty sweet in a gloss black. And I think a side blowhole would ruin the overall effect a bit, but if you really need one, probably put it under that grey lock thingie.

hokay, i have been working on this but i havent updated on this site in a long time. hopefully the pictures will explain everything.

lets start with to top blowholes.




then i sleeved teh powersupply cables.




not sure of the image limit per post so ill stop at 6 on each

 

you can go waay beyond six if i remember correctly. Cool window but what's odd is that hte pictures look as if the window was added with paint.

 

i then lit the front grille up, i have several pics of this, but here is the best


and the top window.


note the 2 green fans, not one green one blue anymore

lastly on this post is the painted front bezel. njoy.


also note the painted cdrom tray. (teh floppy drive is also no longer there as you will soon see.

thanks for the info tullatin, i wasnt sure how many imgs per post, some forums limit some dont. so i did six. i wasnt reading between my posts, i needed to get all this up.

 

looks schweet so far dude, not sure about the black front panel tho...kinda throws the whole thing off IMO
