Just played the game and all i gotta say is WOW!

you cannot beleive the freakiness of it, especially if you got surround sound, which is an added bonus to the game!

Just been checking some sites and overall its got over 50k people sharing it on p2p :eeek: :eeek: The most ive ever seen is 8k before.
By the looks the game is only 1.8gig?! which seems rather small unless its uber compressed, which i dont understand why since there's 4.3gig per DVD and we know there's some 500meg textures in it???

Anyhow, i dont condone sharing of this sort, im just passing comment :) Got my pre-order from play - its definately one of those games you gotta buy and keep, like Halflife. The screenshots and videos look incredible and i cant wait. Ive just heard from a friend JC commissioned some guys from NIN todo the soundtrack so it just keeps getting better :D:D

It's three CDs. That makes 700+700+700(although probably less)=2100MB, or approx. 2GB. Anyways, my local store is getting it on the 6th, so I'll probably be getting it then.

Just to follow up my post:

I doubt ID really care since theyll get far more from engine lisencing than D3 sales anyway. Regardless - even more reason why it should have a simultainious world wide release

I bet the downloads will keep increasing. I wonder if its going to slow the 'net down at all, with the amount of people downloading it?

    Stupid release dates :wallbash:

it does look pretty good :D (possible spoilers)

Actually the guy from NIN (trent razor or somthing isn't it?) pulled out half way through and took all of the music he did for the game with him.

Trent Reznor pretty much *is* NIN.

Everyone's loss really. I know he'd have done a brilliant job.

Tweaker* did the theme song, the rest of it was done in house and they probably did a much better job than Trent Reznor the stuff he did for Quake 1 was ****e.

*Tweaker's founding member is Chris Vrenna the former drummer of NiN ;)

Although it seems to run well on any old system, the problem I have with mine is that I use a 17" LCD so running it at 1280 x 1024 may be asking a bit much of it.

    1Ghz Athlon, 512meg SDRAM and a GF4 Ti4400

    Damn I need an upgrade.

    I've had it since Thursday.

    A bunch of screenshots

    Computer specs are:
    Athlon XP 2600
    1 gig of RAM
    Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
    Saphire Radeon 9600 Pro

The game is set on medium detail at 1024 x 768.

It runs fine and looks great. The pictures add a layer of crap. It looks so very, very pretty in real life. My only complaint is that it really feels pretty generic. The other complain would be the AI is pretty stupid. Far Cry feels better then Doom 3.

I would like to point out that I was expecting to hate Doom 3 and I have said for awhile now that id makes engines, not games. The game is simply a side business to increase licensing. I like Doom 3, and there are some very cool bits. It is worth the money, I'm just not sure what kind of replay value it will have.
