man i just love how you make the make the keyboard looks like it's getting eaten by the rust, i was wondering could you perhaps post a guide on how to do such details?
question Hey P-man I have three questions: Whats the playability of the keyboard? does the rust effect how you play HL with it? Have you tested it? TIA Oh yay, I refuse to tell you how good it looks cause it would be just more spam....
Thank you for your greats comments I need to make a huge package and put it into another one with air cushions between both... I ll post pics of it nice idea, I ll make one when I get some time the playability is like before I paint it ; this is just paint over it and I made the corrosion just in place where hands doesnt go when you use the keyboard
hi hey man great job, i have been reading around these forums for a long time now, this is my first time postin but been watching stuff for a while. I defintaly like this one a lot. It does have some stuff that blackmesa never did, but there was only one thing i dont like about this one. I think that the uv lights are too much. They put off to much glow. I was thinking about something that would look cool, and i have done this before so i know, it works, you could give it a try and see how it works. My idea is to take a white cold cathode, wrap it in clear saran warp, and color it either yellow or orange. Or if u can find orange saran wrap give that a go, it makes the cathode not amazingly brite but give off a nice glow. I did this before with a red marker and got a nice blood red. Instead of the pinkish color that cathode companys think is red. Im just throwing in my two cents but otherwise this is a master piece. Keep up the good work.
What kind of machine/tool did you use to cut out the combine wall? ..... I thought about a jigsaw, but that would just cause the plastic to melt!
I don't understand how you managed to mount the plexy with bolts/pop nails: .... I tried it once but the plexi just broke
Sorry for filling your thread with old pic's, but I have one final question: I know that the answer to this is located somewhere in the thread, but I simply couldn't find it; Where did you get the perspex?
thanks and welcome masterjosh I used a hacksaw , with the appropriate blade it works perfectly, I use a pvc blade like when I cut the perspex the window is made with 6mm thick lexan sheet , this is really hard to break it , even with a hamer you can't brake this lexan sheet I bought this perspex in a belgian shop called "superplastic" they have a website but don't sell products online.
"I bought this perspex in a belgian shop called "superplastic" they have a website but don't sell products online." Well thank you Is this the right link?: http://www.superplastic.be/fr/produits2.php?CID=121 It's really expensive! May I ask how much you spendt on it?
-Enforcer-5716M4 Around here were they sell pop rivets, they also sell small washers that go along with the rivet. I think that they are used for riveting areas that is too thin. I have used them for this and I have used them for riveting plexi as well. For me the rivets would pull through so I used the washers and it worked quiet well. Hope this helps.
excellent solution when the perspex is not thick enough the price was 63 € for one 60*100*0.3cm sheet
valve is financing everything so cost doesnt matter that much but yeah it's really expensive, but it's beautiful man this case is wonderfull
did you take not he is making this PC for Valve? (read the title) as in they are going to pay him to do this mod. And from the looks of it and how much effort they are getting I am hoping they can pay him at least $1000 USD on top of parts cost.
"I am hoping they can pay him at least $1000 USD on top of parts cost" Your hoping? Do you think you'll get some of the profit Hehe just kidding
definitely worth some money... or they should at least give him a lesser amount of $ and let him keep the computer to sell on ebay for aobut 6,000 dollars..
Guys - While PilouX has already stated that he is not allowed to divulge the details of the financial arrangement that he has with Valve, I am sure that they will take care of him. I really don't think it will be an issue. The machine won't go on Ebay, it will go to Valve, and Piloux will be appropriately compensated for his costs and his time. (PilouX - Without giving any details, feel free to reply to this with a "Yep" or some such.)
