I can't even see it in the larger pictures... it's not really something to go and blow money on... But yeah... if you have supplies try fixing it.. just don't waste money on it!

Same here, cant see it in the bigger pictures, although i'm sure the idea of an imperfection must be annoying :p.

Maybe cover it up? you could put bolts through the door holding the window and make sure you put one over the scratch, or put a border around the window that goes over it.

Or cut a sorta dotted line ( --- --- --- ---) going around the window that goes through the gash? I've never seen anyone do that before.

Other than that I can only suggest filling it partially, then filling the rest with paint and sanding the whole thing a little to smooth it out. Wont be perfect but at least there wont be a hole to catch the light.

thnx for the ideas. As to cutting out a whole pattern.. it would be so very difficult to get it right (especially with my newbie dremel skills).

I think im gonna sand it down. What grit do you think i should start off? 600? 800?

Should I sand it down to a mirror finish?

Not to mirror finish that would ruin it imo

Don't sand down the panel, you definitely wont be able to get a good look out of it.

Then what are my options? I have to do something to cover up some of the nicks I made (note to self... next time cut from the back of the case door!)

I dont want to paint it... I cant think of anything to cover it with...

What would be wrong with a mirror finish?

    Is it really that noticeable?

If you were to do a mirror finish, some other parts would also have to have mirror finishes, because it might have a weird contrast

Case skin would mess it up because the interior fits with the current outerior

Is there any way you can mod the door so that the outside is the inside and the inside is out? Or get some nice molding? Possibly paint a border (would have to be throughout the case then and would have to be just perfect).

Good Luck on the fix and nice project.

    Update!

Filed down all the edges... and inserted the plexiglass... its a bit hard to see but the plexi glass is installed in the pictures below.

Its not glued in yet, because i still need to sand the door (cause of some scratches.)
