OK so I got lots on the go at the moment (mainly over at moddin.net forums) but one thing that's getting done right now is the Mini-ITX PC I'm building for my dad. He has a yacht and wants something to run the navigation software on. So here it is so far... A shot of all the hardware The mobo with clip in 12V-12V PSU and WLAN card The alu mobo tray it's mounted on, that's the start of the case [] The next day's progress: The reciever for the wireless keyboard and mouse before... And after the Shinymod treatment [] With the rest of the kit Motherboard tray with the hole cut for the cables Where the cables go: The hard drive through the 2.5" to IDE converter (mounted underneath the mobo), and the laptop CD to IDE converter. Note the nuts holding the mobo standoffs nice and tight. The cables poked through to the mobo side Test fit with the mobo, laptop CD and cables in place The next day's; this time I've mocked up a little of the construction in ProDesktop: The base plate and motherboard tray assembly. The full frame. That should give you some idea of the construction. The next day: It's s*xy, it's mesh, it's an I/O plate! quite proud of this idea [] It's not so s*xy looking, it took an hour to do, it's Mk.2 since I messed the first pair up... and it's mobo tray support. Not bent yet, but believe me it was harder than it looks to make. LEDs and holders that arrived from maplin today Close-up The Uber s*xy power button also from maplin That's it so far, but watch this space!
Very tidy work, I'm sure your dad will love it Do you have any plans to make a perspex cover for the mesh i/o shield? Protective cover and still the mesh pimpness
I had plans to make a splash shield for the I/O plate but now you mention it I could make it look so damn sexy if I made it out of plexi.....!! GOOD THINKING BATMAN!
That's probably the webserver... I need to sort it out anyway, not sure if I will have an update today after all... not got enough done
