    you tried the 9800 xt much yet? with o/c will outperform the 5950u no problem

    ive tried it at stock speeds and unfortunately it didnt come close to my current card in most games (about 15% behind, give or take a bit) although it did beat out the 5950 in a few game as well (about 15% ahead)

    this was with the 5950 at 550/1000 though
    no idea how high it will overclock as i didnt even try, at load it got up to 72C so that is not too bad, i presume i could get a 10-15% overclock out of it easily, hence bringing it either up to the same level as my 5950 or slightly beating it out

    at the end of the day though, they will both perform roughly the same, give or take, and an ATI card will sell sooooooo much more easily than a nVidia card so i've decided to flog the 9800XT and the 9800Pro

    i bit disappointed tbh, i was hoping it would pwn beyond all belief
    but i had quite unrealistic expactations i suppose

    FINE THEN!
    just for that im going to do a new install ESPECIALLY FOR YOU to see whats what :p

    ive played with the 9800XT (overclocked) on a fresh install now with slightly different results,

    without any AA the 5950 beats the 9800XT in everything by a fair margin
    with 4xAA the 9800XT is slightly faster than the 5950 (up to around 10%) 7/10 games and slightly slower in 3 games


    although the results were with a 9800XT on a fresh install and the 5950 on a not-so-fresh install, which could account for a portion of the performance as well, albeit a rather small portion

    and now i cant decide which one to keep :sigh:

    nice card but to be honest if i had £300 odd quid i defo would not buy them im waiting for next gen cards rather :D
