As the year draws to a close we dive right into the holiday season. The first major event for our family is the annual trek to the pumpkin patch. This usually begins the mad dash to Christmas.

I processed this one a little more than usual:

    • Pumpkins were a little washed out. I used Selective Color to bring the orange back.
    • Channel Mixer to convert to black and white.
    • Merged the layers into a new layer. Set the layer blending mode to "multiply." (turned off the Selective Color and Channel Mixer layers)
    • Again, merged the visible layers into a new layer.
    • Some slight burning to bring the brightest highlights down a notch. Slight dodging to bring out a little more shadow detail.
    • Color Balance to add a slight warm tone.
    • Selective Color to add just a touch of black to the darkest areas.
    • Very minor tweak to the Curves to balance the tones.
    • Merged the visible layers.
    • 30% Unsharp Mask.
    • Added a vignette around the edge. Set the layer opacity to 10% to make it subtle.
    • Finished off with a border.

    Enjoy. :)
