Other $100 computer, what should I expect?

    Why can't you get Linux to work?
    Have you read this thread?


    I wouldn't want to use a Pentium 4 24/7. It will be quite power hungry compared to the celeron.

    My university blocks port 5900, the port that VNC needs to communicate between computers, ie it don't work. So any VNC program doesn't work, therefore I have to use Log Me In which only works in windows based machines (they might have something for Linux but it cost $$$ and may use port 5900)


    So out of these two you'd say the ___________ is better

    I'd go with the sat(even if it's p4). If it's a torrentbox, then you'll probably need to upgrade to a high capacity hard drive eventually.

    I think I'm going to pick up the computer with the P4, SATA would be pretty nice to have to expand since all my extra HDD are SATA

    My mom will be meeting the guy tomorrow for the trade, hopefully it doesn't run too hot.
