Interesting shot, but have to say that i think the processing lets it down. the blue filter really isn't conveying the right atmosphere, i think emphasising the shadows and going all grungy would suit the shot better. compositionally it is good but i'm not a fan of the crop. would rather see it in all it's 10mm glory. fundamentally a good start but i'd rather see a different take on the processing :) depends on your style though i guess

Thanks for the feedback on the picture.

It's inside an abandoned building in the harbor of Brugges.
    It's close to a youth centre/skate park/legal graffiti area/..

I didn't add anything to the picture, just played with the color in photoshop. Normally I don't photoshop my images this much, usually it's just levels and a bit saturation and a crop + border. But since there is alot going on in the picture, I thought this was a good chance to try something new. I tried to make the graffiti work in the back pop out and give the chair a bit more character. Original [3MB]

Thanks for the suggestions olv, I think I'll start again with the crop/processing some time next week.

I really like it, it's like something out of a movie. It's also quite confusing - but in a good way, makes you really examine what you're seeing.

Link broken, Lovah. Also is the tag meant to be POTM old or are you striving for this month's comp? ;)

I like the image: the contents are great and like all the leading lines in the composition really pointing out the graffiti and wreckage towards the back. However I agree with olv in that I think it'd be stronger with darker, dirty, grungy processing.

Great picture, just looks so surreal, looks like a possible winner to me.

Hope you don't mind but i had a go. the white balance in the original seems completely off so the colour tones are not correct but this is the feel i would have gone with.

As said before, love the photo just not so sure on the blue cast. Had a crack at a quick PP myself, hope you don't mind:

Still not quite the effect I was ultimately looking for, but an idea.

    Thanks for the input guys.

As I sed before, I'll try to open up some time later this week and have another go. I do have some other pictures with different white balance settings. I'll try to workout something that fits more with the picture.

I can still 'update' my picture with a newer version, can I?

    Cheers,
    Thanks for all the input.

Oohh very nice. I actually like the blue cast over the other versions people have posted. I think it does a lot for the picture to have it single tone. Perhaps try a B/W conversion or sepia?

    Another great location.

I luv your processing, great picture, but the scene for me would be even better with some people in it.

great photo, but just though i would say that personally i like the original a lot. This is not to take away from your processing, just meant as a compliment.

Ok. After having it 'rest' for a while and looking back on this, my original take was far too bright and blue. Since there is not that much time for the competition and I don't want to miss the deadline (again), I'm going to enter this one.

Hope you like this processing better:

Yeah, this processing is better than the original. Still has the blue cast but it's not overpowering.
