He filed the lawsuit claiming Google was spreading his private information across the internet. Before he filed the suit, his name returned no results. Now because of the suit, if you Google his name you'll get over 200 matches because of the suit.

The ironic thing about it is that most places are hosting a copy of the lawsuit which is, in turn, spreading his personal information across the internet because he scanned every single piece of identification that he had.

...and by hand-writing it, he was bound to make his suit spread quickly through the internet airwaves. He's a genius. It's like streaking at a world cup football match and then suing the football association for invasion of privacy for broadcasting the event around the world. He can't lose!

No, it would be like suing the FA, and then streaking across the pitch.

Sounds like the Streisand effect to me. He didn't want his info on the web, then he emails someone his lawsuit containing all his highly personal information, and it gets out. Idiot. Next.

he obviously won't win, but if it goes to court, google might settle. which would make him more money than he already has (assuming he represents himself)

Won't even get that far. He voluntarily and without being asked supplied his personal information to Google. He deliberately put it in the public domain. So he can't cry "breach of comfidentiality" now.

Moreover, even if the court has a mental health day and he wins, it sets a massive precedent. For instance anybody could sue the Census Bureau for making your name and address available to the public.

How could he be an accomplice if google where the ones who released it to the tech law firm then leaked onto the net. If he personally hosted the pictures of his ID himself then he would have been a contributor.

Am i missing something, but the news article doesn't seem to make a point

The title says hes suing Google for 2.5bn, but the article never says why
    i think the bit
May be trying to make the point, but why does photocopying all your identifying stuff help you sue Google for 2.5bn ?

Am i just being really thick tonight ?
