What the deal with publishing stuff from the magazine on-line. Whats the point of getting the mag at all. Seems like a conflict of interest. Still a good test!

Not everyone can get the magazine. I, for example, have no financially viable way of getting it here in croatia, but I still like reading articles, even if they are somewhat dated ;)

if its a bit tech tradition it stays online forever, cpc can publish it but if the idea started here, here is where it stays.

and furthermore to bodkin's comment, some people prefer the way certain writers write, i for one would move back to the way bit tech used to work before the merger, as some of the articles now leave me wanting.

The only pie's i've had so far this year are Morissons and Co-op varieties. We need a mince pie mega-test part 2!

You should have cut one open to show us non-Britts what's lurking inside.

    Where are Asda's?

Ive gone through 4 boxes of Mr Kipling, 2 of Tescos Finest with Cognac, and a box of Asda 12.

Asda are easily the best, with Tesco bringing up second place when cold (not pleasant warm!)

Mark Price will not take kindly to such a low score for his Mince Pies, thus, the man responsible shall now loose his head.
I'm amazed that mince pies that cost over £9 get a good score, if i bought 6 Mince pies for over £9 i would expect them to be hand delivered by a royal, not some box with a flimsey plastic insert.
Good review though, however, think due to the fact i can't be bothered to walk to either Tesco, Asda or Waitrose, i shall keep going for the CoOp's own Mince Pies, 12 Mince Pies for £1.60? Yes Please.

    Sam

Side Note: Mark Price is MD Waitrose, and i am Partner Waitrose.

On page 3 you're basically telling to not get any of those pie's? I only read negative comments on all of them.
I also do not think its fair to compare a pie made in 2004 to a pie in 2009. Just buy from all companies this year and compare them. Ingredients change you know!

I never tasted any of them, or even heard of those pie thing's before. But I guess its a typical English delicate.

Perhaps you'd prefer a nice bag of humbugs instead.

If anyone gets the urge for a megatest, try and get hold of some Lidl pies - they're my favourite. :D
