Storage 1tb external hard drive

    Hey folks,
    I need to get a reliable 1tb hard drive to use for protools, I brought a maxtor external one last year but it failed on me, I took it apart and found it was a Seagate drive! Luckly I managed to recover the data! What drives would you recomend? I'l probably be buying 2!

    Samsung F3 1TB :D
    Seagate 1TB 7200.12 as a Second Option :D

    Assuming you want a new drive to inside the enclosure... :)

    I have a 1.5 Tb Samsung Story external and very happy with it although transfering 850Gb of film by USB takes aggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssss!

    I recommend the Western Digital raid edition drives. They sport a 1.2 million mean time between failure. They are a little expensive but they are worth it if you want data security.

    If you want something at the consumer level. Green drives are probably more suitable since they have a lower RPM and lower chance of failure. If you don't mind the low transfer rate that is.
