    Shame..

    But, it's all about gameplay!?

And hopefully it'll be a very new build of the Doom 3 Engine, otherwise it's going to look very dated!
..but still better character models than Fallout 3..

I like it enough to hope for a sequel. Good to hear it'll come.

Doom 4, Rage & Prey to wait for now.

Huh, what a coincidence, I'd bought the original at the time but just didn't get around to playing until recently and only just finished it last night. It was good but the weaponry was a bit dissapointing, there were some clever ideas and good fights - the use of gravity switches and wall walks was a very nice touch and the spirirt walk ability was quite interesting. Count me in for this one when it comes out.

Have you tried Prey recently? It still looks pretty damn good. It'll also allow a wider audience since a moderate PC will be able to run it.

One of the twists in the story was pretty disgusting. Damn good game though - looking forward to the sequel.

Prey 1 was a bad game sincerelly. Too much (technical) resources on a shallow game.

The Doom 3 engine doesn't exactly look so dated it's going to affect the actual playing of the game. In fact for something like Prey 2 (if it's anything like Prey 1) it'll be perfect.

Watching a trailer for Wolfenstein (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-wolfenstein/50085), you may well notice now generic and dull it looks as a shooter, but you hardly sit there think "damn it's so ugly it hurts my eyes".

Back when D3 was new, I was heavilly involved in a modding project called "Doom 3 Can Do It Too", where the simple goal was to show the D3 engine was capable of much more than dark corridors and straight shadows. We ended up building a replica of Trafalger Square complete with full day/night cycle, which if I do say so myself looked pretty awesome.

Plus, to this day nothing has come close to the flexibility and accessibility of the in-game GUI you could place on actual objects. I seem to recall seeing a full in-game iPod Touch, complete with a version of the original Doom, as a fully interactive physical object you could pick up and chuck around. All it lacked was a damage model.

The reason it got an 18+ rating in Germany, I guess. ;)

What exactly was bad about it? I remember it being quite entertaining while nowhere near perfect.

You wouldn't happen to have a video/demo of that, would you? Because that definitely sounds freaking awesome.

Everything is relative... I finished Deus Ex 2 recently... Now that engine really is looking dated!!
The original Prey looked OK. Just wouldn't work so good for outdoor locations (no HDR like the slightly later HL2/Source engine). I also enjoyed playing (and completing) Doom 3 - not because of the gameplay - just it really felt like I was exploring a Martian base...

I'd be interested in a Prey sequel. Enjoyed the first game. Wasn't perfect but it had some really nice ideas going on that I would love to see made better use of. Also any game that has a Dyson sphere in it get a thumbs up from me :D
