The Toshiba Satellite / Satellite Pro / Tecra range depending on your budget.

They have the fastest P4 mobile processors, one of the fastest mobile graphics Geforce4 Go, and come with large screen sizes (14.1" or 15") and pretty large hard drives as well.

I have one and its absolutely amazing.

Got it cheap !! :D Been running it 24/7 for nearly 2 months now ...

And your budget matches up with the models and features you want as well.

Toshiba make the ultimate notebooks !!! :D

So, whatever notebook you buy, make sure its a Toshiba

the cpu in there is a p3 tualatin mobile or something similiar as it has the high cache of the tualatin and the low voltage...

my 1.4 tualatin seems to be able to beat a 1.6p4 hands down, so the cpu in that laptop is quite good...

gfx aint as good though as you say...

have a look at toshiba and dell laptops...both make good laptops...for graphics get one with a mobile gf4 or ati whatever and youll be fine...

The CPU in the laptop in the link is only 866 MHz ....

Don't think the performance will come anywhere near a P4 using DDR RAM ... especially as it uses SDRAM

Coz 1.4 is not much different from 1.6 and coz Intel are crap.

But an 866MHz/SDRAM combo is not going to stand against a 1.6GHZ/DDR combo.

I have a PIII 1 GHz/256MB SDRAM laptop too ... but my P4 1.6/256MB DDR laptop beats it in everything.
