I've recently been sorting my computer out and found that I'm now doing a lot of work while lost in Spotify or a YouTube playlist. But what I've also found is that I really like to have that particular app open so I can see whats playing, skip songs, favorite them, etc. So I decided I wanted a little touch screen which would give me both the display, but also the ability to quickly navigate the app.

Now I've bought a few Elgato products recently, and one of them came with the little wall mount bracket they make.

My first though was to mount this to the wall and be done, but that doesn't give me the option to move it very far in relation to my seating position. So my 2nd idea was an Elgato Wave Mic Arm LP. I already have one for my mic and it works great. Once I'd aquired this, how do you mount a screen to a tripod 1/4" screw. My head went into all sorts of elaborate things and doodads bolted to each other, but when in doubt, Keep It Simple Stupid.

The though was to use the ball mount from the Elgato Wall bracket, bolt it to the vesa mount, then vesa mount to the screen. Time to go find a screen on eBay, I settled on one of these Elo 7" Touch Screens as it was £50. If it didn't work for this application, I should be able to use it in my Raspberry Pi rack project which will be next. Now I have the vesa mount demensions of 75mm, and the little Elgato wall mount.

Time to invest in a cheap a 3D printer (Creality Ender-3 V2 Neo) and try my hand at design again. Fusion 360 installed, and I dived in. After a few hours of learning, measuring and measuring again I had this.

After about an hour, I stopped the print to check dimensions. I only had the free white PLA I received with the printer which was never going to be used for the final product so no loss. THis is what I ended up with.

    Time for V2.

V2 needed to look a little bit better. Also, did I have room to bolt the Elgato mount to the vesa mount? Probably not, so why not just add a few pins to the print to hold the mount in place and stop it rotating. A few more hours in Fusion 360 and finding the chamfer tool, I had this.

It would have to wait until my day off to print as it was going to take close to 4hrs. But come that day, I set my little Ender-3 away, occasionally checking in to admire it's work. I ended up with this.

Sadly, it would appear that I woke up this day with @The_Crapman's Postman Pat hands instead of my own and while cutting off the support material I snapped off 3 of the 4 pins. It's still okay for a 2nd first attempt at a 3D print though.
