    Hi,

My PC recently stopped turning on. My first instinct was the the PSU was faulty so I connected it to a PSU tester. This suggested that the 5V standby (pin 9) was only 4.4V. I do have the system in standby a lot so it does make sense that this rail would be worn out. All the other rails are well within spec. But before I go out and buy a new PSU I just wanted to check if anybody thought that having a low 5V standby rail would prevent the system from starting. What are your opinions on this?

The PSU is a PC Power and Cooling 500W unit from about 5 or 6 years ago. So it's a very good PSU but it's quite old.

    Cheers. :)
