    Hi,

I am using the Netgear wireless 614v9 router. I tried to log in using the browser and the default password, but does not work-can't log into the router. I am afraid of resetting the router in case I don't know how to set it up again to the internet. Anyone know the settings so that I check the router setteings?

I'm with Virgin and the default was admin:admin

Unless they've changed it recently might want to try that.

I thought that is your account password and not your router password.

Nope, that is what our Netgear router uses as its user and pass. I broke it by brute force

I have no idea what our account password is. . .

How do you reset the modem? I pressed it few seconds, still could not reset it. Maybe I am doing it wrongly?

if it's the net gear one, leave it powered up and press the pin in until the light go off and it resets then try admin and password or password1 once it reboots.

Finally managed to reset it. However when I tried setting it using the Virgin Media included CD it just stalls at step 5. However, I did manage to manually modify it myself using the router's website. I think my setup is secure, however since I don't have a wireless device, I just decided to turn SSID off.
