Well I always thought the case was ugly and cumbersome (would anyone put up with that hinged lid/cover long term?) but now you can add downright dangerous as well. I know that some manufacturers claim their product is hot stuff, but this one actually lives up to the hype although not quite in the way that they intended.

I wonder how many were sold?

Really saddening, this machine. It's the only real gaming machine present in our local big electronics retailer. There are always kids around who are like: "ZOMG itz got watercooling cool!".
Once I told a dad who just wanted to buy this thing for his son, that he can build one much cheaper with better parts himself. He didn't buy it, I am not allowed to buy there anymore. As if I'd care.

    EDIT: Hey Jamie, kthx.

Why would you recommend not doing it, if it is a fire risk!?!?

It'd be fairly ironic if it caught fire while you were using it to look up returns information...

Only to be expected from Acer, quality is not their strong point.

acer's not that bad you know. i'm typing this on an (acer) aspire one, which i'm fond of.
on the other hand, the predator is not really my piece of (cheese)cake. i do have a nice rig in a nice P182. quiet, stylisch and not really dangerous.

Surely this is the fault of the PSU manufacturer rather than Acer themselves? I suppose they're doing something about it anyway, IMO it's karma biting them in the arse for bundling it all toghether in such a ugly chassis.

I thought for a moment Bit-tech news was finally following suit like the rest of the big media Newscasters...but why would the big bad wolf be crying foul now?

I don`t like the design either, but if i were half my age again (i wish) i would probably like it. There`s a lot of design work to make something like this, instead of just a square box.

No worries, I'm sure the liquid coolant would put out the fire.
