I got my water cooling and now im sorted with my new Dual heat core and shrowd, or am I? I had heat problems with the shrowd ontop of my tower so I decided to make my own custom acrylic tower case.

I designed my case with a program called sketchup and took a good week to get everythink perfect in the virtual world or a design program.

Here is what I want from my Mod:

    1) large enougth case to hold all my pc and enable me to work inside of it with ease.

    2) Maximin air flow using 120mm fans though shrowd, back and top of tower.

    3) Removable side pannels and motherboard tray

    4) it has to look nice! :D

Some pics are taken from my digital camera of pics that iv printed out as I lost my Hard drive just after the design was compleated but lucky it was that I printed out all my plans!

I looked into what plasic sheets to get and how thick I needed it and of corse the cost. Scanning the net for info was quite hard as I could not find anyone els that had made such a project.

The questions I have to ask myself is how am I going to hold it together, what equipment am I going to need and how am I going to get the plasic sheet home? Iv spoken to my brother and he is going to help out in his shed, he has the folling equipment for the job.

Table saw to cut large sheets down to smaller workable sizes.
Jig saw to cut the parts out with.
Electric plainer to smooth of edges.
    Files small and large.
Quick grip clamps to hold material.
    large table to work on.
2 coloured marker pens to drawer out design.
    Square
    Glue plasic glue.
    Ruler
    Steady hand :thumb:

    Here is my design.

Well if you read the thread it says SKETCHUP

I would say about 2 1/2 cd drives wide (from the picture)

Cant really comment on the 8 drive bays, maybe he likes cd-drives or is mass copying dvd's or something.....only he knows

well as im going to all the trouble and am always saying "why is there only 4 drive bays on my case" I decided to add more than I need plus im going to add a LCD screen that takes 2 bays up. For me the idear of making my custom case is to make it different from what I can buy and I havent as yet seen a 8 bay tower.

Hey my Lian Li 6077 has 9 5.25" bays and they're all filled. He already mentioned a 2bay LCD and extras give room for expansion as well.

I have to collect my acrylic sheet today! Its 6mm thick and working it out on sketchup iv flat packed it onto the virtual sheet of acrylic.

Today is the day that I will be marking it and cutting it out I think its take some time.

Well its all cut out a just a few bits to go then its going to gether.
I spent 7 hours doing it so it took a while.

Here are the progress of the cut outs so far. Me and my brother found that his electric plainer is a god send for taking off the edges
Today we used the jigsaw, Electric plainer light sand paper and table saw to get large sheet which was 6.6ft x 4.4ft

Not sure what electric plainer it is as its not mine its my brothers gear but I know all edges we put throught the plainer and all inside holes I filed and then sand papered and thats it. I got a damm good cut with a jigsaw.

The trick is not to do the cut sloppy in the first place then you only have to finnish the edges.
