I watched all 3 series again this year, on All4. As for adverts, if I can't skip them, I ignore them and, they are all annoying...
Over here it's extremely rare for TVs to allow OTA recording/pvr functionality, but I thought the EU forced manufactures to enable it if the hardware support existed? I've had a (paid tv) PVR for ~13 years now and every time I travel, I always bring my Android TV box for entertainment as I can't stand TV ads anymore (US is the worst, especially in election years).
When I was a wee nipper people actually used to look forward to the coke advert. Most notably the “teach the world to sing” one. I mean at least they used to make an effort. Ads now be all like “just buy the **** you will any way “
That's ok until there's an error installing it. Seats back to front and one of the wheels on the roof...
That's what the release version would be like, then they'd release a patch after a couple of days, which would fix those issues but introduce a whole host of others at the same time (including a new "feature", which means that the speedo doesn't go over 20mph to make it compatible with Welsh law )
